Back to VA

After 3 years of traveling from coast to coast and experiencing many "good times" along the way, I'm headed back home to Richmond, VA. I'm so thankful for all of the lessons that I learned during my journey, even though some of them were difficult lessons I learned the hard way. Sometimes I feel that is how I learn best, but as I mature into my "adultness" (as I like to call it) I know that my personal decisions are what steer the lessons and how hard they are...if that made any sense! HA! I've been away from "home" for just enough time and now I'm headed back to VA with a few paths in which to choose...

Let me explain... I am still focused on opening a fitness and wellness center for individuals with paralysis which is my main reason for returning to my old "stompin' ground." I have an unlimited amount of resources and contacts in VA and that is what I need to continue my goal of opening a center. I have been told by other facility owners that I need a small army behind me and my army is in Richmond...so here I come! HA!

On another note... Something I have always been interested in is the operation of restaurants and some of the best jobs I've had have been serving jobs. I'm constantly observing how a restaurant is operated, especially with customer service, such as critiquing servers on their strengths and weaknesses, in the "server" world. (If you have ever waited tables, you know what should and should not been done). Anyways, I've always said that "I would love to open and run a restaurant one day" but never really thought any further into it.

Until recently... I'm excited about moving back to RVA and having my new, fresh start waiting for me when I get there. I have decided to bring 1 special thing, or should I say "someone" with me from Palm Harbor, FL, someone I like to call "My Main Man Ray" (For all the movie buffs out there, name that movie!) I've had the joy of getting to know him, which includes watching him utilize his skills and passion in the kitchen as a chef.
